Light Exploration
Through some hands on centres we learned that:
1. Light moves in a straight pathway.
2. When light rays bounce off a surface and send the image right back to you (reflection)
3. When light rays bend and make things look a bit wiggly or in a slightly different position (refraction).
4. When a prism or water droplets separate light into its many colours (dispersion)
When exploring these concepts we noticed:
"When the water is moving, the rainbow moves,"
"I saw a double rainbow."
"It looked like pop-its reflecting off the marble."
"I put a paper towel on top of the light and when I pressed the light it started blinking."
"There was only a few full rainbows."
"When you get the flashlight and point it at the ground or the desk, it looks like a moon shape."
"When I put the mirror on the desk and put the magnifying glass on top of the flashlight, there were two circles."
