High Frequency Words
We will be working on spelling the First 300 High Frequency words with a spelling test each Friday. During the week please practice reading, writing and nicely printing these words. The words this week are:
Phonics: Drop -e Rule, Y-I Rule
-We learned another spelling rule for when we add suffixes -ER, -EST, -ED, and -ING to words-If the word ends with a silent E, we drop or take away the E before we add a suffix. For example, if I want to add -ING to the word hope I take away the E and add -ING: hoping- If the word ends with a y, you change it to i before adding the suffix - except for when adding -ing!
